Joe says, "Participation is the key, and no amount of physical activity is too little. I believe in physical fitness and sports as a way to improve our quality of life, both mentally and physically. In dealing with injury, the body has amazing recuperative powers, especially when we believe in ourselves and we see ourselves achieving our goals. I see examples every day of people overcoming great odds and doing things someone has told them they will never be able to do again."
Kathy Carroll is a graduate of Northeastern University with a BS in Physical Therapy. As co-owner of Cape Cod Rehab, she wears many hats; in addition to treating orthopedic and sports injuries at the Osterville facility, she manages human resources, accounting, payroll and office personnel. Kathy recently consulted on "The Stretch Deck" which is a comprehensive total body stretching program which is sold in bookstores nationwide. Kathy has spoken to several groups regarding injury prevention, Osteoporosis, Exercise and Pregnancy, as well as Prevention of Running Injuries. Kathy runs, plays golf and plays on the Cape Cod Rehab softball team. She offers the following advice to runners and other fitness enthusiasts: "Allow your body time to recover between workouts, and, no matter what your sport, incorporate core strengthening exercises. A strong core will lessen your chance of injury and help improve your performance."
