Pre-op sessions for RTC and ACL reconstruction

The ultimate goal of your surgery is to alleviate any pain you may have had and to improve your overall function. Golf Fitness Analysis

The golf fitness analysis program is a one hour biomechanical evaluation of your swing with a physical therapist, using video analysis. The visit also includes a personalized stretching and strengthening program based on the analysis. You will come away with a new look at how your body influences your swing, an appreciation of how exercise can enhance your performance, and be better able to follow instruction from a golf pro after identification of your biomechanical swing faults.

Emphasis is on your body's soft tissue and joint restrictions and how they may be compromising your swing potential. This is especially helpful for golfers who are pre and post-op, as well as patients who suffer from tendonitis or pain during their golf round.

You simply make an appointment during our convenient office hours and the therapist does the rest! You will need to wear snug fitting golfing attire to best view your swing in the video, and bring a five iron to your appointment. You will leave with a renewed sense of confidence and perspective in your swing!

Comprehensive Spine Program

Cape Cod Rehabilitation has designed a comprehensive educational program for patients with acute chronic low back pain.

SPINE SOLUTIONS is presented as a 90 minute interactive seminar by one of our trained staff therapists and covers normal anatomy as well as the pathophysiology of common spinal impairments. Patients are taught to understand the science behind their injury and how to prevent re-injury and progression in the future. In addition, patients are taught the importance of consistent flexibility and core exercise training in the maintenance of spinal health. Patients are also taken through ergonomic set-ups and taught proper body mechanics for lifting both heavy and light objects as well as improved body mechanics for daily activities such as vacuuming, washing dishes, and unloading the washing machine or groceries from the trunk of their car. Each session of SPINE SOLUTIONS addresses the individual concerns and needs of the attendants.

Cape Cod Rehabilitation has found ergonomic education in combination with a comprehensive manual and land/water based exercise program to be highly effective in treating both acute and chronic low back pain in patients of all ages and functional abilities.

If you would like further information regarding our comprehensive spinal programming please do not hesitate to contact one of our staff physical therapists.

Work Conditioning

Cape Cod Rehabilitation work conditioning is a physical therapy program designed to return a patient to full functional capacity for a job that requires a high level of physical activity. Firefighters, EMTs and Police Officers are typical examples of such positions. Work conditioning is not only designed to prepare the individual to return to physical work, but also helps avoid re-injury.

For example, after an industrial accident, re-injury is most likely to occur shortly after a worker resumes his usual duties unless he has been properly prepared. Similar to an athlete resuming light practice before returning to competition, a worker whose job is physically demanding benefits from work conditioning. The term work conditioning refers to the therapeutic approach of progressively increasing physical work loads after injury back to the point that the worker was at prior to the injury. Performed in an outpatient setting, working conditioning is usually done 3-5 days per week for 2-3 hours. Work conditioning is done after a person has completed acute rehab whether it is post surgical or some other type of soft tissue injury. Once the worker transitions from the traditional outpatient program the focus shifts to more job simulation tasks, total body conditioning and endurance training depending on the demands of the job.
